Thank you for your interest in The Prometheus Society

Thank you for your interest in the Prometheus Society. We are a small group of persons who have demonstrated a high level of cognitive ability. Criteria for membership has recently been revised to include a shortened version of the Mega Test, certain standardized intelligence tests and several widely used instruments that correlate highly with such tests. Presently membership dues as well as nonmember subscriptions are 20 US dollars per year in North America and 30 US per year elsewhere. There is a one-time new member fee of five US dollars. Benefits of membership include the journal, Gift of Fire. Overseas the Gift of Fire is sent by airmail. The Gift of Fire is available online free to both members and subscribers.

The online membership or subscription fee is 10 US dollars per year anywhere. Please send membership and subscriber fees directly to the Treasurer.

List of currently accepted scores:

Entry into the Prometheus Society based on a Mega or Titan test score shall no longer be allowed after April 24, 1999. Anyone having secured a raw score of 36 on either of these tests dated before that date shall be entitled to rights and privileges of the Society.

Anyone with a score of 164 or greater on the LAIT scored before December 31, 1993 shall be entitled to rights and privileges of the Society.

Anyone with a score of 1560 on the "old" SAT (taken before April 1, 1995) shall be entitled to rights and privileges of the Society.

Anyone with a score of 1610 on the "old" GRE (taken before October 1, 1981) shall be entitled to rights and privileges of the Society.

Anyone with a score of 98 on the "old" MAT shall be entitled to rights and privileges of the Society.

Anyone with a score of 500 on the "new" MAT shall be entitled to rights and privileges of the Society.

Anyone with a score of 160 on the Stanford Binet 5 shall be entitled to rights and privileges of the Society.

Anyone with a raw summed full scale score of 189 on the WAIS-III shall be entitled to rights and privileges of the Society.

Anyone with a score of 160 on the WAIS-R obtained at an age of 16 years or older shall be entitled to rights and privileges of the Society.

Anyone with a raw score of 88 on the Cattell Culture Fair III (A+B) obtained at an age of 16 years of age or older shall be entitled to rights and privileges of the Society.

Anyone with a score of 21 on the Mega27 shall be entitled to rights and privileges of the Society, if a validated accompanying score on an accepted test for demonstrating a 1-in-1,000 cognitive ability according to that test is provided to the Membership Officer along with proof of the Mega27 score.   [** "The Prometheus Society officers have voted that Mega27 score sheets dated after 11/27/99 will not be accepted for admission to the Prometheus Society. Test Scores Pertinent to Subscriber Fire List Applications

NOTE: These scores are NOT acceptable for membership in the Prometheus Society, but may be applicable when a subscriber applies for membership on the Fire List.

Where a score of 1-in-1,000 is required on one of the following tests:

ACT (32), Old SAT (1450), New SAT (1520), GRE (1460), GRE Analytical (760), MAT (85), Stanford Binet IV (149), Wechsler Intelligence Scales (146), Cattell CF III (A+B) (149), Cattell Intelligence Test Scale IIIB (173 old norming), RAPM II (150), Mensa Admission Tests (149), Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT) (149).
